Lou Emma Margaret Freeman, 83, of Oakdale, died on Sunday, July 17 at Kaiser Hospital in Modesto following a short illness.
She was born in Oklahoma on Nov. 30, 1927. She lived all of her adult life in California. In 1945, she married Ralph V. Freeman, and settled in the Bay Area. She raised four children in the cities of San Pablo, Santa Clara and San Jose. After 38 happy years together, her husband passed away in 1984, and she moved to several different cities, finally settling in Oakdale in 2001.
She held many occupations in her life, and worked until the end of her life.
Survivors include her brother, Richard Mosley; her four children, Paula Freeman, Mary Jane (Janie) Freeman, Robert Freeman, and Jeffrey Freeman; her grandchildren Christopher Freeman, Brooke Godwin, Ian Freeman and Nikki Whitaker; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 30 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Los Gatos.
