Lois ‘Gertie’ Gist, 89, died Monday, May 14 from complication of Alzheimer’s disease in Oakdale.

She was born in Yellville, Ark. She lived in Oakdale since 1955.

Mrs. Gist was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, David Gist of Del Rey Oaks, John Gist of Cave City, Ark., Lynn Bower of Oakdale; brother, L.A. Ingram; sister, Doris Lemmons, both of Texas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Gist in 1985.

Visitation was held May 22 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. A memorial service and interment followed at Ceres Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
