Lisa Ilene Hedden, 50, died Wednesday, May 23 in Modesto after a short illness.

She was born in Peoria, Ill. She was a resident of Empire for 14 years.

The youngest of eight children, she was the laughter and joy of her family. Nicknamed by her family as the ‘Little Angel’ and her brother’s ‘buddy,’ she’d light up a room with her contagious smile.

Ms. Hedden loved music, singing, and the holidays the most. Always eager to receive presents, she’d return with excitement. She was loved by many and will be missed.

She is survived by her sisters, Patsy (Gene) Ruger of West Plains, Mo., Sheryl Miller of Modesto, Terrie Hedden of Ceres, Wanda Hedden of Waterford, Cindy Hedden of Denair; and brother, David Hedden of Waterford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Leona Hedden of Oakdale; and sister, Connie Wyatt of Florida.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, also at Salas Brothers. Place of interment will be Oaklawn Cemetery, Oakdale.
