Kimberly Kay (King) Lopez was born December 30, 1959 to Clyde and Dorothy King in San Leandro, CA. The family relocated to Oakdale in 1977, where Kim attended and graduated from Oakdale High School (class of 1978) and later attended Modesto Junior College. She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a wife, a mother, but her proudest title of all was being our Mimi. An astonishing track athlete, lifelong lover of horses, phenomenal baker and cook, she also was very active in her community coaching youth softball, junior high cheerleading, and also being a state pairing official with the Oakdale Wrestling club. She retired from Oakdale School Transport Services after 23 years of taking children to and from school.

She gained her wings on April 15, 2023 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She is survived by her mother Dorothy King, brothers Jay Hammon and Gerold (Sandy) King, husband and love of her life of 43 years Jerry Lopez, children Cortney (Jeff) Day, Jerry Lee (Danae) Lopez, and her five grandchildren, Jackson, Jayce, Adeline, Reagan, and Kooper. She is preceded in death by her father Clyde King and sister Rena King. Celebration for Kim is May 1, 2023, at St. Mary’s in Oakdale for a Catholic Mass that will be held at 10 a.m., continued by a grave side burial at Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery Oakdale, CA followed by a celebration at the Oakdale Saddle Club, where she was a member for many years, at 1 p.m.

We thank everyone that has reached out to the family and helped us all through this difficult time.
