Kenneth Lee Markey, 62, died Monday, May 9 after a battle with pancreatic cancer at his home in Grants Pass, Oregon.

He was born in Sacramento. He lived in Oakdale for 40 years.

He had been employed by the California Department of Corrections. He retired and moved to Grants Pass, OR where he lived for the last 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Markey of Grants Pass, OR; daughters, Chris Rhodes of Abilene, TX, Shonia Hinton of Klamath Falls, OR, Melissa Markey of Grants Pass, OR; brother, David Markey of Jackson; three grandsons; three granddaughters; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Arduth Markey; and brother, James Markey.

A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the Grants Pass Missionary Baptist Church in Merlin, OR. A graveside service will be at 1p.m. on Tuesday, May 17 at Valley Home Memorial Park.
