Kenneth Eugene Crum, 59, died Saturday, March 26 from complications due to a battle with cancer in the hospice ward at the Veterans Hospital, Palo Alto.

He was born in Oakdale.

He served in the Army during the 1970s.

Mr. Crum loved people. His employment at Waterford Farm Supply, Keith Brown in Oakdale and Home Depot in Riverbank gave him the opportunity to help home “do-it-yourself” folks as well as contractors.

He was also an avid fisherman and gardener, and loving stepfather and grandfather of six grandchildren.

He was active in the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, Noble Grand of LaFayette Historical Lodge #65 in La Grange and member of Coulterville, Ceres, Knights Ferry and Hughson Lodges.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Crum of La Grange; sister, Carol Ward; and nephew, Michael Ward of La Grange.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes Irene and Henry Cornilias Crum.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 21 at the La Grange Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Odd Fellows Hall in La Grange.
