Kenneth C. ‘Whitey’ Josephson, 84, died Sunday, March 25 in the presence of his loving family.

He was born in San Francisco to Joseph Luwing Abraham and Estelle Nellie May (Filburn) Josephson.

Mr. Josephson grew up in the Butchertown neighborhood of San Francisco. After years as a cowboy, he worked for Allan’s Meat Company in Stockton. He was a resident of Oakdale for 40 years.

For 28 years, his passion was volunteering as a coach for the Tri-City Outlaws. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Julia Elizabeth (Wertz) Josephson; sons, Jerry and David Josephson; stepdaughter, Helen (Briggs) Haynes Moore; stepson, Jim Briggs; sister, Myrtle Cecilia Williams; brother, Ed Josephson; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Josephson; and one grandchild.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 30 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oakdale.
