Joshua Dean Bye, 33, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 15 at his home.
He lived in the Modesto/Oakdale area.
He was a graduate of Oakdale High School and participated in wrestling and football.
Mr. Bye was a groundskeeper at Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
He was a personal caregiver to his mother. He also was a caregiver to his grandmother, grandfather, and stepfather until their passing.
He was saved at Truth Tabernacle in Oakdale. He was involved with the Bay City Racing Association, where he was a member of the pit crew for Daryl Marlin and John Harkrader. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hiking, camping, and his pets.
He is best remembered for his big smile, quick wit, jolly laughter, kind heart, and gentle spirit.
He is survived by his mother, Teresa Bye; father, Harold Dean Bye; sisters, Tiffany, Stephanie, Brandy; brother, Matt; grandmother Johns; great-grandmother Brown; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and many loving friends.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22 at Valley Home Mortuary Park, 30705 E. Lone Tree, Oakdale. A celebration of life potluck will follow at 3948 Townsend, Riverbank.
