James A. ‘Jim’ Howell, 49, died Wednesday, June 15 surrounded by family, after a nearly life-long battle with cancer since childhood. He had battled three types of cancer, the first when he was just 8 years old.
He was born in San Mateo on Aug. 30, 1961 and relocated to Oakdale 28 years ago to start his own painting business, JH Painting.
Mr. Howell loved to fish with his wife Mary and step-son-in-law Angelo E. Queirolo of Manteca. He adored playing with Mylie, his spirited Jack Russell Terrier.
He was a faithful member of Sierra Baptist Church in Oakdale. Above all, he was known for his big heart and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Howell of Oakdale; mother, Ruth Howell of San Jose; brothers, Jerry McMahon of Concord, Larry McMahon of Minneapolis, MN; nephew, Shawn McMahon of Concord; stepdaughters, Kim Queirolo of Manteca, Traci Smith of San Jose; and grandchildren, Kylie Brahic, Angelo J. Queirolo of Manteca.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Howell; and brother, Donald McMahon of Minneapolis, MN.
A celebration of life was held June 21 at Sierra Baptist Church, Oakdale.
