Harriet Pearl Jones, 75, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 16 due to complications from surgery.
She was born in Columbus, Kansas and grew up in the Stockton area with her nine siblings until she was 13. She then resided in Oakdale for most of the last 62 years of her life. Mrs. Jones worked for the Elk’s Lodge in Modesto prior to her retirement.
She loved God, her family, fishing, cooking, and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Maureen) Jones, Doug Jones, all of Oakdale; siblings, Betty, Wayne, and Karen; grandchildren, Brenda (Shawn) Kiely, Anita (Luis) Garza, Summer Solum, and Nicholas Jones; five great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Louise, Dale, Maurice, Bonnie and Gary.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F St. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 at Oakdale Family Church of the Nazarene, 1700 West F St. A graveside service will be held at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery following the church service, with a reception at the church immediately following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to your favorite charity, Children’s Guardian Home of Oakdale (part of the Children’s Crisis Center of Stanislaus County) or The Elks Lodge of Modesto.
