Evon Delois Jackson, 83, died Thursday, Sept. 22 in Riverbank.
She was born in Whitefield, Oklahoma on Aug. 31, 1928. She married Lester Jackson and moved to Riverbank in 1949. Together they had two children, Donna Norton and Farrell Jackson.Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker most of her life but at the age of 45 went back to school and earned her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree. She worked in that vocation until she retired. She was a very social person and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Farrell Jackson of Oakdale; four grandchildren, Kimberly Capps (Richard) Gonsalves, Ima Frost, Neil (Esperanza) Jackson, Lezlie (Jeremy) Acker; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Jackson; daughter, Donna Norton, and granddaughter, Judy (Tony) Niemi.
There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon.
