Dorothy A. Russell, 87, died on Good Friday, April 6 at Brighton Place, Spring Valley.

She was born in Pasadena on Dec. 22, 1924. She lived most of her life in Oakdale.

Mrs. Russell loved flowers and playing games with family and friends. She had a contagious, wonderful laughter. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren provided her much joy in her later years. She will be missed by numerous friends in Oakdale and in San Diego.

She is survived by her children, Diana (John) Hahn of Columbus, Ohio; Lillie (Patrick) Russell of Tacoma, Wash., Carin (Alan) Chambers of San Diego, Paul (Linda) Russell of Williamsburg, Va., Stan (Barbara) Russell of Battle Creek, Mich.; brother, Arthur (Jackie) Brown of Oakdale; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Elwin Russell.

Visitation will be at 2 p.m., with funeral service at 3 p.m., on Thursday, April 12 at River Oak Grace Community Church, 7712 Rodden Road, Oakdale. A graveside service will follow.
