Doreen (Hoffman) Dillon, 73, formerly of Oakdale, died peacefully Tuesday, April 3 surrounded by loved ones at her home in Grants Pass, Ore.

She was born on in Lancashire, England to Fred and Esther Sudworth. She graduated from Medical School at the University of Liverpool in 1963 and immigrated to the United States, where she did her anesthesia residency at the University of Virginia.

She moved to Oakdale with her three children in 1979 and was Chief of Anesthesia at Oak Valley Hospital from 1979 until 1993.

She married William “King” Dillon in 1999 and they moved to Grants Pass, Ore. in 2000.

Mrs. Dillon enjoyed painting, playing the piano, gardening, classical music, spending time with her family and friends but most of all, she loved helping others.

She is survived by her husband, King; children, Joanne, Mark and Allison Hoffman, all of Southern California; stepsons, Craig Dillon of Novato, Russ Dillon of Grants Pass, Ore.; brothers, Jim Sudworth of Bedford, England, Ken Sudworth of Lancashire, England; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
