Connie E. Garcia, 82, died Saturday, March 3 at Oak Valley Care Center.

She was born in New York and came to call Oakdale her home in 1969.

Ms. Garcia was an avid seamstress. She loved to crochet and loved making dolls. She also made hats for babies for area hospitals.

She volunteered for a Christian food sharing organization for 24 years. Her positive attitude and smile will be missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Eulalia Pena, Ramona Garcia, Ruth Miller; son, Dennis Benitez; brothers, Peter Garcia, Tony Garcia, Frankie Garcia, Jerry Garcia; sisters, Edith Garcia, Olga Smith, Andrea Medina; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Garcia; sister, Mary Rodriguez; and Rosie Garcia.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 at Oak Valley Care Center.
