Coleen Cherie Whitcomb, 75, of Escalon passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, May 16 surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Visalia on Dec. 3, 1937 to Roy James Casey and Irene Velma Black. She was one of three children.
She was a graduate of Ceres High School and attended her upper education in San Francisco. While attending college she fell in love with the father of her three children, Bernie Whitcomb. She cared for her children and home in their early years. She worked for Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and M.R.A. and Associates for the span of her professional career. She had a great love of literature. She was happiest when spending time with her grandchildren, be it teaching them chores or watching them play.
Survivors include her sons, Kevin K. Whitcomb (Valerie) of Modesto, Craig S. Whitcomb (Christine) of Escalon and Brian S. Whitcomb of Oakdale; five grandchildren, Kevin Whitcomb of Jamestown, Ashley Whitcomb of Riverbank, Cody Whitcomb of Oakdale, Niki and Hunter Whitcomb of Escalon; and her older brother Nolan ‘Gene’ Casey (Lana) of Hughson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Keith Lavon Casey.
