Carol Jean ‘Dolly’ Speck Snyder, 67, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 22 at Doctor’s Hospital.

She was born in Oakdale, the daughter of Elmer and Esther Speck. A lifelong resident of Riverbank, she graduated from Oakdale High School in 1962.

Ms. Snyder spent 18 years working for various banks in Riverbank. She then worked for Stanislaus County as an eligibility worker for 12 years, until her retirement in July 2010. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Heather) Snyder of Riverbank; aunt, Christine Schutz of Oakdale; uncle, John Schutz of Cle Elum, Wash.; grandchildren Kyle and Kelsi Snyder of Modesto; one step-grandson, Austin Downey, of Riverbank; and numerous cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 30 at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon.
