Apolonia ‘Polly’ Hoffman, 93, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 21 at Oak Valley Hospital.

She was born in Holland and came to America with her family when she was two years old. She met the love of her life, Henry Hoffman, in Southern California. Together they started their new life in the dairy business and raised seven children.

Mrs. Hoffman was a resident of Oakdale since 1968.

The most important things in her life were her faith and her family. She loved all her family unconditionally.

She is survived by her sons, Hank Hoffman of Oakdale, Neil (Georgiann) Hoffman of Arizona; daughters, Corrie Shore, Mary Ann Baley, both of Oakdale, Toni Porter of Fresno, Ann Marie (Danny) Keane of Modesto; sister, Mary Van Ruiten of Oakdale; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hoffman; and son, Jim Hoffman.

Visitation and rosary will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, with the rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oakdale.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Reception to follow at St. Mary’s parish center.
