Anita Louise Bowlin, 63, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in her home in Oakdale, California. She was born in San Jose, California, on August 14, 1954, to Bernardo and Barbara Jean Propin. She grew up in Sunnyvale, California, and graduated from Sunnyvale High School in 1972. In 1973, she moved to Oakdale, California. In 1977, she welcomed her first daughter, Jenny (Barber) Humphrey. Anita married Kenneth Bowlin of Houston, Texas, in November 1982. In 1983, she welcomed her second daughter, Amber (Bowlin) Kost. She was very sociable and could make conversation with nearly anyone anywhere! She worked for Stanislaus County as a library clerk for the Oakdale Public Library for 25 years, which is where she met and chatted with most of the townspeople.
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, Bernardo Propin III. She leaves behind her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Jenny (Philip) Humphrey of Oakdale and Amber (Dustin) Kost of Escalon; grandchildren: Ryan Humphrey, Tanner Humphrey, Emma Humphrey, Cameron Humphrey; Keegan Humphrey, and Olivia Kost. She also leaves behind her sisters: Christine Crist of South Dakota, Rebecca Jaso of Oakdale, and Teresa Geraci of Florida; her brother, John Propin of Oakdale; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. A public graveside service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery, 701 East J St., Oakdale, CA.
