Oakdale Soroptimist member and Mary Kay Sales Director Charlotte Metcalfe has created an event called Celebrating Women, where women of all ages in the community come together to celebrate the success of other women.

The 2022 edition will be held at the Oakdale Visitors Center at 7450 River Road from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

Drinks and snacks will be provided as well as a beauty bar filled with various Mary Kay products with samples.

Each event also has a spotlight speaker who is chosen to speak to the group about their accomplishments and how they got to where they are now.

“The speaker who is chosen is hard working, involved in the community, and currently making differences in the community,” event founder Metcalfe stated.

Speakers at past events have been Amy Craig, Lucy Lloyd, and Ashley Cogburn.
