At the Sip and Stroll in downtown Riverbank on Friday, Oct. 2, black hats lined the streets as witches took over the restaurants and stores during the Riverbank Witches Walk. From tall pointed hats to black flowy dresses and capes, witches and warlocks enjoyed some tasty items from Pizza Plus, Black Sheep Kitchen and Cocktails and Kinfolks Flatstone Grill, finishing the evening with sweet treats from The Copper Cone.

Organized by Sara Jane, owner of Collective Space Studios and The Collective Space Event Center, the proceeds from the event went to Soroptimist International of Riverbank. Founded a little more than three years ago, the local charter of Soroptimists in Riverbank manned their own table at the event, with Jill Dougherty, philanthropist and Riverbank resident, greeting visitors and pouring some delicious wine as guests continued their journey downtown.

“We are so grateful to Sara at The Collective Space for putting this together and we appreciate all of the local businesses that came together to make this happen,” said Dougherty.

Participating vendors included Maria’s Artisan Shop, which showcased vibrant and colorful pottery while Cooper Lane offered luxurious goods for the home and Bend the Trend shared their extensive mixture of curated jewelry and fall fashions as visitors sipped and strolled.

Attendees agreed that the event was a festive way to kick off the Halloween season and brought the community together to help support a worthy cause, Soroptimist International of Riverbank.
