It is hard to believe that it is already this first week of November. As you drive around our beautiful community take notice of the brightly colored fall foliage throughout. The leaves are turning the loveliest shades of yellow and orange. Autumn has certainly arrived in Valley Home!

One of our favorite community members will be celebrating a very BIG birthday this month. This fine gentleman is the hard working father to three awesome kids. He is the lucky husband to his beautiful wife, Sally. Can you guess who this special guy is? The answer will be in next week’s column.

Also celebrating a birthday, this Saturday, is Valley Home’s own Melissa Bartholomew. Melissa, we all wish you a very happy day with many wonderful returns!

On Thursday, October 31st, Valley Home School students paraded through Valley Home in their spectacular Halloween costumes. There was a wide variety of costumes from zombies to princesses and skeletons to Duck Dynasty. Spotted parading along with the students was the Lone Ranger! It was also discovered that the students were visited by Tonto! What an extraordinary day for Valley Home. A very big “thank you” to General Store owner Susan and her crew who handed out treats to all Valley Home students. Susan does this for the community each year and she is very appreciated. After the parade students enjoyed classroom parties back at the school. It was great seeing Lisa Jones and Sally Chrisman there to take pictures and capture this very special day.

Valley Home School Volleyball and Football teams were in action last Friday, November 1st. All teams played very well and had a great time. The players were especially thankful for all of the fan support. The next Volleyball and Football games will be on November 15th.

Our 4-Hers are busy planning their annual awards recognition dinner. This evening is a special time to honor the 4-H efforts of the past and to welcome new 4-H members to Valley Home. The 4-Hers are also collecting canned goods for their Thanksgiving basket and are starting to plan “Christmas in Valley Home!”
