Let’s have a big round of applause for the Valley Home 4H sponsored Easter Egg Hunt which took place on Saturday morning on the grounds of the Valley Home School Texas Avenue site. The group did a wonderful job of giving our friend, the Easter Bunny a big helping hand and making the morning so much fun for all the eager young egg hunters!

The Bunny’s helpers had this to say about their efforts, “Our community Easter Egg Hunt was once again a delightful success.” The 4-H members created a special day for all who were present! Their good time actually began the night before, when the group gathered in Cody and Jenna’s barn and dyed hundreds of brightly colored eggs. Their enthusiasm was rewarded when Christina Barreto treated them to her special Easter sugar cookies, along with s’mores!

Bright and early Saturday morning, the 4-H'ers were at Valley Home School to hide all the eggs. Garret Bryni, Austin Dickens, Jordan McCain, Jenna Heaton, Ashley Barreto, MaryBeth Carpenter and Marissa Campbell had a wonderful time hiding all the eggs. The hunt started at exactly 10:30. It was a joyful scene as the excited youngsters, baskets in hand, scampered here and there, gathering the brightly colored eggs. After the over 600 eggs were found, the youngsters headed to the prize table. Bryce McKenzie was the big winner of the day after he guessed the correct amount of lollipops displayed in a container. Congratulations Bryce on being the winner!

Adding to the excitement of the day, the crowd all joined in singing Happy Birthday to Cody Soares, and the birthday boy was gifted with a giant bunny rabbit. Happy Birthday Cody!
