The word “special” is the perfect word to describe Valley Home resident, Emma Boggs. Growing up in Valley Home, Emma is blessed with a rural lifestyle, a beautiful country home and a wonderful supportive family. This time of year Emma is very involved with her Oakdale High classmates preparing for the Academic Decathlon. It takes hard work, dedication, long hours of studying and a strong desire to represent the reigning Oakdale High Mustangs. Emma is part of a nine member competing team, each of whom were confident they had what it takes and brought home the coveted Decathlon trophy again this year. Great job Emma, Valley Home is extremely proud of you! Go Mustangs!

The program was formerly known as Junior Miss, and is a national scholarship program that rewards and impacts positively the lives of young women. It will be held this Saturday, February 13th at 7:00 p.m. at Magnolia School auditorium. From a very young age Laci has been involved in Valley Home 4-H. She is also active in FFA, marching band, steel band, and cross country at Oakdale High. Laci has earned many ribbons and awards in 4-H showmanship and is an accomplished speaker. The Valley Home 4-H Box Social was a great success ... lots of delicious treats, nut and fruit trees, tasty brownies, cookies and beautiful cakes. Bringing much excitement to the evening was the very spirited bidding on a “Super Bowl” box donated by the Heaton family. The box contained goodies and treats from both the Broncos and the Panthers Super Bowl teams! What fun! Special thanks to all who bid on, donated or attended and supported Valley Home 4-H!
