Thank You!! To each and every one of you who donated and helped make our Valley Home Park yard sale such a wonderful success! Your generosity and caring spirit ensure that our little community park will be well maintained ... a family fun place ... a lovely meeting place ... and truly a place all us can be proud of and enjoy! Your donations will go 100 percent for park maintenance (PG&E, taxes, insurance, etc.) Thank you all!

A very special thank you to Bert and Cost Less Market for always being such a generous supporter of our community. Thank you Bert, we appreciate all your support!

If anyone would be interested in serving on the park board, there is an empty chair that needs to be filled ... please consider it. No lengthy meetings, short and simple ... approximately every other month. We would like to thank Valley Home resident Virginia Kuhn for stepping forward to serve on the park board also! Thank you Virginia.

Last week we also celebrated “National Night Out” in Valley Home. Neighbors gathered in our park to visit old friends, make new friends and enjoy each other’s company ... all the while encouraging crime to stay away from Valley Home! We are especially grateful to our school Superintendent, Mr. Tom Price, CHP Officer Chuck Leon, Firefighters Jared Eckle and Buck Condit, Sheriff’s representatives, fire board member Ray Martin and all who helped make this evening so special! We missed Supervisor O’Brien who had a last minute situation to attend to, and Sheriff Christianson and his crowd pleasing, crime fighting helicopter. Already looking forward to next year!

School started on August 6th and we are excited to report “a wonderful beginning” to the 2015-2016 school year. By the time you read this, our school board will have already had their first meeting ... will report on this meeting in next week’s column. Many thanks to those who serve our school on the board and tons of thanks to our school staff ... because of all your efforts we enjoy the benefits of having a tremendous learning experience, safe environment and a truly remarkable education. We are very blessed.

This evening, August 12th is “Back to School Night” at Valley Home. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend! We also take this opportunity to welcome 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Mackenzie Nabors. Although we will definitely miss Traci Davis who taught 2nd grade for many years at Valley Home, we are excited to welcome Mrs. Nabors and look forward to an absolutely wonderful learning year!
