Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well.

Please remember, Wednesday, April 8 is our Valley Home MAC meeting. The meeting will be held at our Valley Home School at 6:30pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. It’s a great time to ask questions or share your concerns with our Stanislaus County District 1 Supervisor Buck Condit and our Stanislaus County public officials. Our first responders are there to answer your questions, they also bring important information to share with us. Hope to see you there.

Thursday, April 9, our Fire Department will hold their monthly meeting. The meeting will be held at our Valley Home Fire Station and will start at 10:30am. I hope you will join us.

This weekend is one of the most exciting weekends of the entire year. Local cowboys and cowgirls along with those from miles around will meet at our Oakdale Rodeo Grounds for the greatest rodeo around. Our Oakdale Rodeo was started several decades ago by a group of determined and very dedicated folks. It has grown into a tremendous event, with an amazing reputation. A huge thank you to our hard-working Oakdale Saddle Club members who work year-round to make this amazing event happen. It is definitely a special time of the year when those rodeo rigs come rolling into Oakdale. I love to sit on my front porch, although I am outside of town … it’s a special sight to watch those rigs come rolling down Valley Home Road, heading to our Oakdale Rodeo. Remember to get your place on the sidewalk in Oakdale early Saturday morning; our Oakdale Rodeo Parade is a true tribute to our special way of life in this area.

I hope you all enjoy this year’s festivities.

Again this year, we remember a very special young man … Ray and Cassie Jones’ beloved grandson and Amanda Jones’ amazing son, Wyatt Jones. He spent much of his time at our Oakdale Rodeo Grounds. We miss you, Wyatt.
