Remembering to appreciate! It sounds really funny to say “I need to remember to appreciate,” but yet I find myself saying that very phrase over and over again. With the New Year upon us, many of us are trying to make positive changes in our daily lives. For some it is a desire for good health we are striving for. For others it is financial success or maybe it is a happy relationship. No matter what it is, what we wish for can start with appreciation of our day! Appreciation of our day makes it almost impossible to be worried or carry our stresses throughout the day. For most of us the joy of living in this beautiful area is enough to give us reason to appreciate every day! As we go into 2018 it is my hope that we will appreciate the friends, the family, the laughter, the little and the big things that God brings into our lives each day! What a wonderful way to start 2018, filled with appreciation!

Looking back over the years I have a deep and forever appreciation for our Valley Home 4-H. So many people have given so much to keep this wonderful 4-H club going year after year. Thinking about our Valley Home community fills me with tremendous pride and happiness. Everybody does their part to make our community such a peaceful, special place to live. Watching our young people grow up, many of whom have been members of Valley Home 4-H, it has given me such great joy to see them become such productive happy adults. For all the great Valley Home youngsters, whether you were in 4-H or not, there was always plenty to do in and around our community! School was a terrific place to learn, the after school program was such a positive environment, our churches welcoming to all, our general store well stocked and our fire department always ready to serve! Since the early German settlers came here and chose this beautiful area to raise their families, youngsters then and now have grown up in a most special place.

Our Valley Home Parent Teacher Club met this past Monday, Jan 8th. Exciting plans are being made for the school Spring Fling Dinner Dance. More details to come.

Our Valley Home 4-H has also already met this month. Many project adventures and fun filled events are being planned for 2018.
