It’s so nice to see the almond blossoms! For many this is a sneezing situation, but after the winter we have all had it is also a wonderful sign of a beautiful spring just ahead. It has definitely been a hard, wet, windy and rainy winter! Again this past weekend the wind and rain took down several trees in Valley Home. Trees were down on each campus at the school on Friday. Wow what a crazy winter we are having. Looking forward to spring for sure!

This week we honor the memory of a true country girl, a wonderful Valley Home lady! Mrs. Sally Richards passed away on Friday, February 10th. Sally was surrounded by her devoted family and her beloved husband, Marvin Richards. The matriarch of a huge, loving family, Sally was deeply loved by all who knew her. Her trademark smile and tremendous energy will forever be appreciated and remembered by all her friends in Valley Home. Sally passed on her strength and love of serving her community to all members of her family. We in Valley Home are especially grateful for the strength, talent and strong work ethic she instilled in grandson Charlie Wucherer. Charlie, Melisa, Wyatt, Emma and MaryBeth are well known throughout Valley Home for their devotion to Valley Home school and community. Thank you Sally for leaving such a wonderful legacy and such a special family!

We in Valley Home mourn the loss of devoted husband, father and friend to many, Mr. John Krieger. John leaves behind his precious wife, Fran, loving son Eric Parker and devoted daughter Nancy Parker. John and Fran were happily married for 37 years. John was a loving and proud grandfather to his many grandchildren. John will be missed especially by his faithful companion, Max. His dog Max has been a devoted friend and constant companion for the past 11 years, always by his side! John was a very motivated man, working to put himself through college. Always known as an honest man and a very hard worker, John would spend several years as a mechanic working on foreign cars. John had a love for automobiles, a love he carried with him through his lifetime. He and Fran were big supporters of our Fire Department, working to get much needed measures passed. The Valley Home community will always be grateful for their hard work. Our station was staffed with their help. Thank you John and Fran! We appreciate and remember the kind of man John Krieger was, he missed the days of a simple handshake. For over 40 years he enjoyed an amazing banking career. Our hearts go out to this Valley Home family, Billie and Gene Benedix, to his beautiful, sweet wife Fran, and to all his family, whom he loved so very much.
