School Year 2019-2020 Begins To Round-Up

Classrooms are being spruced up, books unpacked and families are shopping as Oakdale Joint Unified School District staff and students prepare for the 2019-2020 school year.

District events begin this week as Oakdale Junior High hosts its Round-Up event Wednesday, July 31. The event begins with seventh graders from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by eighth graders from 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

On Thursday, Aug. 1 Oakdale Junior High School will host WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) for incoming seventh grade students. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The orientation is designed to help students make the transition from the elementary level to junior high. The morning will include a number of team building activities as well as a barbecue.

Oakdale High School will also be busy with activity on Thursday, Aug. 1 as the Class of 2020 reports for its final OHS Round-Up from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  The junior class will follow that morning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Senior portraits for the Class of 2020 were taken earlier this month.

Friday, Aug. 2 rounds out the pre-school activity as the sophomores, Class of 2022, attend Round-Up from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The frosh Round-Up will follow from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The incoming freshmen will spend their morning on Friday in an orientation hosted from 9 a.m. to noon in the Corral.
