Patterson Road Crash Results In Fatality

A two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 16 in Riverbank resulted in one fatality.

According to Riverbank Police Services Chief Ed Ridenour, the accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Patterson Road and Hot Springs Road.

“Our early investigation shows one vehicle was entering Patterson Road from the north side of the roadway near Hot Springs Road and pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle. The westbound vehicle broadsided the vehicle entering the roadway. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals,” Ridenour explained. “Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle entering the roadway from the north side succumbed to his injuries late last (Wednesday) night.”

The name of the victim was not released pending next of kin notification. The driver of the vehicle entering the roadway was described as an elderly male from Modesto, noted Ridenour, while the westbound driver was an adult female from Oakdale. The investigation is ongoing.
