Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 4-21-21

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, April 13 through Monday, April 19. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, APRIL 19

Chief Officers attended the weekly command staff meeting.

Crews performed weekly equipment checks and station maintenance.

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 17

2:35 a.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Engine 27, and Battalion 1 responded to the intersection of F Street and Second Street in Oakdale with two vehicles involved in an accident. One of the vehicles was reported as overturned. Fire Crews arrived on scene to find the occupants out of their vehicles. No injuries were reported. Oakdale PD is investigating the cause.

10:42 a.m. – Modesto Engine 29, Engine 28, and Battalion 5 responded to Knights Ferry near the covered bridge to assist a subject with a broken ankle. Crews provided BLS (Basic Life Support) care. Secured the victim into a stokes basket and lowered them to the access road. They were then transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

5 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Grass 27, Water Tender 27, and Battalion 5 responded to a tractor fire that spread to the vegetation off Jackson Road in Oakdale. The fire was extinguished and crews spent 90 minutes overhaul the fire.

8:59 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28 responded to a vehicle accident on 26 Mile Road. Two vehicles were involved and only minor injuries were reported. CHP is investigating.

 

FRIDAY, APRIL 16

Hazard fuel mitigation work continued adjacent to 900 Old Stockton Road in the City of Oakdale

3:38 p.m. – (No address information listed in report) Engine 28, Engine 27, Engine 29 and Stanislaus BC2 responded to a motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment. Crews arrived to find a single vehicle involved and one patient with major injuries. The patient was transported to a local emergency room via ground ambulance.

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 15

BC-5 met with Con-Agra in Oakdale to discuss future training and planning for hazardous materials emergencies. Future planning of a hazardous materials drill and training is being discussed with the Special Operations B/C.

Crews worked on a fuel mitigation project on Hollenbeck Court in the city of Oakdale. Crews worked on removal of brush and dead trees. This effort when done will significantly reduce the threat of grass and brush fires in the area.

 

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14

RT-130 Field Exercise: All crews participated in a series of evolutions that Cal Fire requires proficiency in. After completion, each member will receive documentation that signifies they have met the minimum standards to assist on State/Federal led fires this summer

Chief Ernst visited Station 5 this afternoon to share the latest news in the organization and give the crews opportunity to ask questions.

9:22 p.m. – E28, E27, BC5 responded to a vehicle accident at Claribel and Albers with one minor injury reported.

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 13

Today three of our newest probationary firefighters started their first shift at their respective stations; David Hilson at Station 6, Andre Vera at Station 10, and Wyatt Dias at Station 28. They raise their American Flag on the first day of their shift. The flag goes into a safe until they raise the same flag again on their last day.
