Stacey R. Vierra has been promoted to the rank of major in the U.S. Air Force. She has also received the Air Force Medical Service 2015 Outstanding Competent Medical Authority (CMA) of the Year Award from the Air Force Surgeon General.

The nominations reflect the extraordinary quality of the Airmen in the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS). The accomplishments of those recognized demonstrate expertise, leadership and commitment across the full breadth of the support the AFMS provides to the Air Force mission and the Joint Team.

Vierra is currently serving as Public Health Flight Commander with 341th Medical Operations Squadron, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana. She has served in the military for 23 years.

Vierra is the daughter of Frank J. Vierra and niece of John Kreiger, Billie Benedix and Toni Lopez, all of Oakdale. She is the niece of Denise Boyd of Ceres, the wife of Paul J. Finco of Great Falls, Mont., and the mother of Kayla J. Sailer of Madison, Wis., and Mykale B. Lynch of Roy, Utah.

She is a 1991 graduate of Oakdale High, Oakdale. She earned a master’s degree in 2008 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.
