The Knights Ferry School Board meeting was jam packed with parents at the Thursday meeting. The Board had to limit speakers to three minutes each. Kim McCarthy spoke on being able to pass out fliers for a class for a fee. The Board wanted more time to discuss the matter. On the budget, Pat Pfefferle asked why the $145,000 left over from a grant was put into the general fund for funding retirement pay instead of for the teachers. The Board conducted a self-review and the audience had comments on that subject, need a way for public input. Tasha Sweet and others read 6 of 29 letters written concerning the dropping of test scores, spending, fact finding, treatment of the teachers by the administration, and letting a teacher go and possibly the aides. After the meeting, there was a closed session. Your reporter happened to fall on the way to her car and broke her foot!
