Pluto, the Oakdale K9 unit, helped bring down two wanted parolees Friday, April 9 after patrol officers spotted a man tossing a substance into the window of a parked vehicle at a motel on East F Street.

Police arrested James Darin Williamson, 32, of Oakdale, after witnessing Williamson’s suspicious behavior and searched the vehicle. The search turned up methamphetamine and heroin. The officers knew Williamson from previous interactions and discovered he was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).

The officers then checked the motel room where Williamson was seen entering and exiting. A man answered the door and provided a false name. An investigation revealed the man’s identity as George Saldivar, 44, of Riverbank, who was wanted for a parole violation. Inside the motel room, the officers, with K9 Pluto’s assistance found additional heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and cash. K9 Pluto is trained in the detection of narcotics, firearms and ammunition and serves as a valuable team member on daily patrol as well as special events.

Saldivar faces several charges including falsely impersonating someone, possession of illicit drugs, and parolee at large. Williamson was arrested for drug possession and violation of parole.
