While mid-October proved to be busy for Oakdale High School students, as well as alumni, what with Homecoming and the 125th Anniversary celebrations, elementary students were just as busy.

Marking the day of the annual district wide Jog-a-thon, all four elementary campuses spent the morning of Friday, Oct. 12 circling roped off tracks to raise money for their Parent Teacher Clubs and student body activities.

Preliminary numbers collected showed a grand total of $190,000 raised between the four sites. Several of the sites will share final numbers during a follow-up rally for the student bodies.

Each year the district hosts the Jog-a-thon at the elementary sites. Students are encouraged to collect sponsorship via traditional collection method or through on-line donations.
