Investigation Continues Into Weekend Stabbing In Oakdale

Oakdale Police officers arrested a 21-year-old Oakdale man in connection with an early morning stabbing Sunday, Dec. 20 as investigators continue searching for a second suspect in the attack.

Around 12:56 a.m. Sunday, officers received a report of shots fired and people armed with knives in the 300 block of South Third Avenue. OPD units arrived and found a 26-year-old male victim who was transported to a local area hospital for life-threatening injuries. The victim was later reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators identified the suspects as 21-year-old Issac Rodriguez and 18-year-old Eugenio Olivares, both of Oakdale. An arrest warrant was later issued for both men for 664/187 PC – Attempted Murder and 186.22 PC – Participate in Crime Street Gang.

Later that morning at approximately 11 a.m., officers found and arrested Rodriguez. Olivares was still outstanding at presstime on Dec. 22. Rodriguez was booked at Stanislaus County Public Safety Center. This case is still under investigation.
