Oakdale Mayor J.R. McCarty, elected to the post in November, took to the podium for his first State of the City address, delivered in front of a sizeable crowd on Jan. 30 at the Gene Bianchi Community Center. Taking a hopeful tone, the mayor reviewed some city achievements of the past year and peered into the future, looking forward to growth and progress for the community and its residents in 2019 and beyond.
