ELECTION DAY

Record turnouts across the nation had people flocking to their local polling center to exercise their democratic right to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 3 for the presidential election. Due to COVID-19 concerns, California Governor Gavin Newsom called for the suspension of in-person voting this year, opting for the preferred mail-in ballot but voters could drop-off their ballots at designated centers, such as the Bianchi Community Center in Oakdale. The Oakdale Leader will have updated local and national election information on its website and Facebook page as information is released. The polls on Tuesday closed past The Leader’s presstime.
