Oakdale Police are investigating an early morning shooting that occurred Sunday, Nov. 13, in the 700 block of East J Street.

Police Sergeant Ben Savage stated police became aware of the shooting at 4:46 a.m. Responding officers learned that occupants of a black sedan discharged a firearm from the car, striking two vehicles at the residence and a city water main.

There was no information regarding the extent of the damage to the water main or if immediate repair was required.

Witnesses told police the suspect’s vehicle was last seen fleeing the area at a high rate of speed westbound on J Street.

The motive for the shooting is not known and the case is still under investigation.
