Craft Fair Saturday

A Fall/Winter Craft Fair will be hosted at the North Modesto Church of God, 1918 Sherwood Ave., Modesto on Saturday, Nov. 19. Hours for the fair are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the event is being hosted in conjunction with the Relay For Life of Greater Stanislaus County. All vendor booths will be inside the church and there will be a variety of handmade and homemade goods, jewelry, candles, soaps, crafts, and more. Food will be available for purchase as well and you can also get your picture taken with Santa. Come support the Craft Fair vendors and find some unique holiday gifts for all those on your list.

 

Benefit Concert Slated

Red Tie Arts and the Central California Art Association are hosting a benefit concert for CCAA and RTA’s Children’s Arts Education Programs. All are welcome and encouraged to join in for an evening of fine music. One of the world’s leading flamenco guitarists of this generation, award-winning José Antonio Rodríguez, will perform at the Mistlin Gallery, 1015 J St., Modesto on Saturday, Nov. 19. Doors will open at 7 p.m.; the concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available through RedTieArts.org.

 

Accordion Club Meetings

Join in the fun and listen to the music as the members of the Good Time Accordion Club gather on a regular basis. The group meets monthly in Escalon and has members from throughout the area. Meetings are hosted on the first Sunday of each month, with the exception of January 2023, since the first Sunday will be on New Year’s Day. That month, the group will meet on the second Sunday instead, Jan. 8. The Accordion Club meets at the Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon at 2:30 p.m., with a $5 donation requested at the door. Upcoming gatherings are scheduled for Dec. 4, 2022; followed by Jan. 8, Feb. 5, March 5, April 9, May 7, June 4, July 2, Aug. 6, Sept. 3, Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3, 2023.

 

Dancing Fun

Check out the Golden Agers at the Riverbank Community Center on Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with dancing, socializing, live music and fun for all. All adults 55-plus are welcome. Just drop in to check it out or become a member. Fees are $5 for members and $6 for non-members. Membership is $15; contact Ellie DeJesus at 209-277-5584 or Lupe Padron at 209-573-5014. The Community Center is at 3600 Santa Fe St., Riverbank.

 

TOPS Group Gathers

All interested are welcome to join TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) a weight support group that meets in Oakdale every Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church on Poplar. This group is open to the public and anyone interested in improving their life by losing weight can contact Audrey for more information, call 209-765-7838.

 

Widowed Persons Support

Oakdale Widowed Persons Group invites you to join them the first Saturday of each month for breakfast at 9 a.m. and on the third Tuesday of each month for lunch at 1 p.m.; call for locations.
