Arrest Made In Early Morning Homicide

One man is dead and another under arrest in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Oakdale.

The shooting was reported at the Bonnie Villa Apartments, 333 Poplar St.

On Sunday morning, Feb. 10 at 2:29 a.m. the Oakdale Police Department Communication Center received a 911 call reporting that a male subject had been shot at the Bonnie Villa Apartments complex on Poplar.

Police and paramedics responded to the apartment where they found a 25-year-old male victim with a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said William Usilton, 27, was contacted at the apartment and identified by witnesses as the shooter.

Oakdale Police Investigators were called to the scene to investigate the incident. The preliminary investigation has shown that the victim was shot during an argument at the apartment. The weapon used in the shooting was recovered.

Usilton was arrested and was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for homicide. The investigation is continuing.
