Annual plant sale scheduled at Oakdale Community Garden

All in the region are invited to come visit the Oakdale Community Garden on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for The Garden Club’s Plant Sale. The Community Garden is at 410 E. A St., Oakdale, near the Gladys Lemmons Senior Center.

This annual plant sale benefits the maintenance and upkeep of the garden area, which is mainly utilized by senior gardeners living nearby. A wide variety of plants will be available including vegetables, herbs, perennials, annuals, house plants, garden art, potted plants, yard decor, pots, $5 bouquets, and more. Get your flower and vegetable beds ready to plant after shopping the Garden Club’s plant sale.

Also on the calendar is the April monthly meeting for the club, set for Tuesday, April 21 at 10 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church, 1480 Poplar St. New members are always welcome to join and learn more about gardening in the community.

This month’s guest speaker is Carole Juergenson, a local business owner, of The French Olive. She will be speaking about growing, harvesting, bottling, and selling olive oils.

Information and planning is starting on the annual fall garden tour for the club and, at the April 21 gathering, attendees will learn more about some upcoming field trips.
