Share a little bit about your business (what you do, how you got started):
I have a full service salon and spa. I have been in business for 20 years. We offer hair, nails, waxing, massage, facials, manicure and pedicure.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I just enjoy this industry; making people feel pretty and good is joyful to me. I love fashion and make-up and everything that goes along with this type of business. I love my customers, they are great people. I feel blessed.
If money wasn’t an obstacle, which charity would you most enjoy giving to, and why?
Some type of cancer charity for sure. I have lost some special people in my life because of this ugly disease. One in particular was my friend, Jon Sanders. He was my best guy friend and it took him from us. If I could give every last dollar to find a cure, that’s where all of my money would go.
What are some the biggest challenges in your field today?
Staying up with the trends and trying new things.
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
Making people happy. Being able to make them smile because of what I have done for them or because of me just listening to them. As long as they leave my chair happy, that’s rewarding.
What are some of your pet peeves?
A lack of professionalism.
