Local food banks in California and Northern Nevada will benefit from an ongoing fundraiser.

The Save Mart Companies recently announced that all Save Mart, Lucky California and FoodMaxx stores throughout California and Northern Nevada, will hold their annual holiday fundraiser and collect donations for the local food banks during this holiday season. The annual holiday fundraiser reflects The Save Mart Companies ongoing commitment to help neighbors in need.

“Food insecurity continues to be a huge issue impacting many in our neighborhoods and we remain committed to our mission to help those struggling in the communities we serve,” said Hal Levitt, senior vice president of retail operations and supply chain. “The support from our generous customers will continue to help our local food banks during this holiday season.”

Customers can donate right at checkout. All donations will be added to their total, and the tax-deductible contribution will be on the receipt. As always, 100 percent of all donations collected will go directly to the store’s partner food bank.

Last year, this annual holiday fundraiser collected more than $221,000 to 38 food banks throughout California and Northern Nevada. This year’s fundraiser began Wednesday, Nov. 3 and ends on Friday, Dec. 31.
