Varsity Girls Go 6-0 At VOL Cross Country Meet

Eagal Lakes in Tracy was the setting for the VOL #2 cross country meet on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

In the varsity girls division, 5k, Oakdale went 6-0 against the rest of the league and improved to 11-1, tied for first place with Kimball.

Haleigh Humble, first, 22:02; Hannah Beth Norman, second; Kayden Legan, third; Kassidy Fmura, fourth.

The varsity boys went 5-1 and now are solidly in second in league with a 10-2 overall record.

Simon Appel, third overall, 18:00; Dominic Robles, ninth; Dax Daley, 16th.

The frosh soph girls went 2.1 miles, paced by Victoria Becerra, third overall in 19:15. Alexandra Becerra was sixth, Bella Weaver seventh.

The frosh soph boys race was 2.1 miles, the young Mustangs were paced by Cody Morrill, fifth overall; Morgan Ballard, eighth, Khriztian Escalente, ninth.

“The Mustangs came out today and competed. Our varsity girls were amazing … going first through fourth at a league meet does not happen that often,” said coach Guy Fowler. “We need to continue our training and get ready for the VOL League Championship meet which is coming up in a couple weeks.”
