Second Place Showing For Oakdale U13 Boys

Playing at the Turlock Mid Summer Classic on July 19 and 20, in the Silver bracket, the Oakdale United Under 13 boys came home with second place medals to show for their efforts.

Their first game was a 2-2 tie against Manteca. Goals scored were by Miguel Calderon and Kaleb McDonald (assist by Jonaton Gonzalez).

Saturday’s second game was a 4-1 win against Roosevelt YSL, with three goals by Kaleb McDonald (assists by Alexis Miranda and Justin Arauza), and a tally by Miguel Calderon (assist by McDonald).

Their third game was a loss 4-1, the lone goal by McDonald, assist by Miranda.

In the final, the boys lost to CenCal Cosmos, taking second place. Coach Matt Harris said he was impressed with the boys’ performance in the heat over the weekend. Their next appearance will be in the Cassy Rowe Foundation Tournament in August at the Cherry Island Soccer Complex.
