Denair Lumber Co. Stanislaus District Girls High School Volleyball All-Star matches were hosted at Pitman High School on Sunday, Dec. 5.

The best of five sets Small Schools match started at 11 a.m., with the Large Schools match following.

Oakdale had two representatives on the North Large School All-Star Squad, with Breelie Gibson and Lydia Stueve suiting up for the competition, with the North team defeating the South in the large school match. Featured schools for the North all-stars were Downey, Sonora, Enochs, Modesto, Gregori, Oakdale and Riverbank.

The Stanislaus district covers parts or all of five counties including Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Mariposa, Merced, and Tuolumne. Players were selected from 35 high schools, across eight leagues, and six divisions. Those named to the all-star squads were chosen from over 170 Class of 2022 senior volleyball players.

Along with the games, the event focuses on equity in girls athletics and also helps provide scholarships for female athletes.
