It was an afternoon of friendly competition at Oakdale’s Kerr Park on Sunday, May 4 as the Oakdale Police Department and Modesto Fire Department engaged in a ‘Battle of the Badges’ softball game. Shown are both teams after the game, with Modesto Fire taking the victory, and Oakdale Mayor Cher Bairos with Lt. Stever of the Oakdale Police Department, following the ceremonial first pitch. The game was a benefit for the OBSA, Oakdale Baseball Softball Association, and there was food and drink available, as well as music and raffle prizes.
