Dear Editor,

Regarding the story in Police Beat (Feb. 4) about a man beating his chained up dog and throwing pipes at it, someone called the police.

Bless them, I do hope that man was arrested for animal cruelty and the dog was taken away to a vet to check out, this man should never own any kind of animal. I’d like to know what happened to that poor dog, I hope it’s safe and not still chained and beaten, this poor animal most likely has endured this treatment all its life.

I want to thank the person who reported the beating. Personally, I most likely would have personally confronted him, putting myself in harm’s way, animals can’t ask for help.
