Supporting Taylor In Election

Dear Editor,

We are so happy to be able to share our support for Terri Taylor for the Oakdale Joint Unified School District School Board. Our kids were students at Fair Oaks, OJHS, and OHS together, and we shared many volunteer experiences at school events. My professional relationship with Terri began when I, Gwen, became the librarian at Fair Oaks. Terri was my administrator, and she had an open-door policy and a listening ear. Her cool head, logical demeanor, and sense of humor served our staff, students and parents well. When she was promoted to Principal of Sierra View Elementary, I was lucky to be one of the staff joining her. Few administrators have the opportunity to be involved in every step of opening a new site. It can be a daunting job, but Terri worked tirelessly to bring her and the district’s vision to reality. She created a family of staff and set the bar high for everyone involved. She was the first to coin the motto, “Teach. Learn. Every Day. No Excuses.” Terri has the intelligence, experience, and dedication to fill this school board seat and serve her community. Please join us in voting for Terri Taylor.

Terri For School Board

Dear Editor,

I’m encouraging everyone that lives in Area 2 of Oakdale to vote for Terri Taylor for school board. There is no one more qualified in terms of experience, knowledge, or commitment to our community. Terri has a long history with education in Oakdale. Over the years, she has experienced our local schools through the lens of a student, a parent, a teacher, a school principal, and a district office administrator. Terri began her career as a teacher at Fair Oaks elementary. She then opened Sierra View Elementary as its principal. I taught at Sierra View at the time and I found that she was a principal I could trust to make informed, logical decisions with an open-door policy that supported students, parents, and teachers. She completed her OJUSD career as assistant superintendent in charge of HR.

Terri has a deep understanding of California Education Code; teacher contracts; school curriculum; and most importantly, the value of communication with all involved.

Let’s not pass up the opportunity to allow Terri to continue to serve on our school board.

Coupled with her experience and love of her school community, Terri is by far the most qualified candidate. Vote for Terri Taylor for school board!
