Contributions Made Night Out A Success

Dear Editor,

I want to thank all the people that were involved in our “National Night Out 2016” held at Burchell Hill Park.

Even though all the work it took to set this up was hard, the end result from the people of Burchell Hill made it truly a success.

My thanks to Interim Chief Mike Harden of the Oakdale Police Department for his time and participation.

Listed below are the exhibits that were made available to the people for safety and prevention of crime in Oakdale … Oakdale Police Department, Oakdale Fire Department, PG&E, Astro Foundation, bicycle licensing, Eastside Mosquito Abatement, Crime Stoppers, senior information, Oakdale Equine Rescue, Center for Human Services, CAPS, Naval Sea Cadets, Oakdale Community Band and those who brought their cars to the Classic Car Show in memory of Jerry Taylor.

A big thank you to the following for our barbecue donations that made our event complete: Raley’s, Cost Less. OID, 7-Up, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, House of Beef, Smart and Final, Wal-Mart Modesto, Rite Aid, ConAgra, Oakdale Police Department, Sconza Candy, Safari Pizza, Mountain Mikes, Little Caesars, Papa Murphy’s, Gold Dust Pizza, Steve’s Ice Cream Truck, Oakdale Country Club, Gilton, TP Toilets. And, a thank you to all the businesses that donated to our annual Door Prize Drawing: Las Margaritas, Les Schwab, McDonald’s, Firenze’s, Wendy’s, Tom’s Smog, Prime Shine, Steves Chevrolet, Denny’s of Oakdale, Cindy’s, Ace Hardware, Café Bliss, Chicken Ranch Casino, Black Oak Casino, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Papapolloni’s, Escalon Golf, Gus’s Steak House in Sonora, Express Care Oil, Oakdale Country Club. Thank you for making this event a fun evening for all who attended.

A special thanks to my family that worked so hard in the 102 heat. My thanks to the Hancock, Detter, Lyda, Milsap, Slocum, Vargo, Goncalves and Taylor families and to the four high school students who were so willing to pitch in and help, we thank you.

I have worked on this event for four years, and I feel the individuals who have given of their time to make this event such a success should be recognized. We thank all of you for your dedication.
